Depot 11, walk #2 04-2012"CPC: Supervisor went with her for a day to observe behaviour. She is continuing to book overtime every day. RMO will be involved, as well as a pre-50 assesment in September. Update of all missing time values will be completed this week. Pre-50 volume analysis will commence next week Oct 22nd.

CMB Scanning values 04-2012CUPW: All routes are getting CMB scanning, will there be new time values for it, and will it be paid retroactively?  
 CPC: There will be new O75s for it with values embedded. End of day depot scans are still to be added. Domenic to follow up with Raj on how it impacts RSMCs. Building RoutesCUPW: When building new routes, they are sometimes allowing for U-turns, etc when it is efficient to do so. CPC: They are instructed to build the routes using best practices which may involve u-turns. The clock is turned on or off accordingly. Domenic will distribute from manual. STATUS QUOD. Carso
Flipping IssueCUPW: There should be time values for flipping the case twice per shift, rather than only 1. CPC: D. Carso to investigate further as to if it is only the initial flip given, or the flip removal as well. STATUS QUOD. Carso

Training for New Hires - 01-2011CUPW: Mark was to have sent list. We are looking also for who has received the DD and HH training. Also looking for trainers who are training the new LC's. Penny is canvassin the stations for who is willing to be a trainer. People are not volunteering as they did before. Depot 11 Splits - 04-2011CPC: Spoke with Ken and agreed route owners do the splits and will begin Monday. Glen to meet with Ken Thursday to discuss further. Glen met with Ken and resolved all outstanding issues. Will reopen if anyone else comes forward they can resolve at the local level.G. Ramlochan

LJOSH Minutes 07-12CUPW: Often not receiving LJOSH minutes, particularly for June. CPC: Will endeavor to ensure minutes are sent to all of the appropriate people. Email is CUPW to advise of exceptions and bring to new business when it occurs. Only received 2 of 15 for last month. Grievance filed. CPC: Will reemphasize with stations.  
Modified Duties Explanations 07-12CUPW: Modified duties are often not explained to workers. Supervisors should explain the offer of modified duties especially where it pertains to computer based training. CPC: Julie to follow up with said employee and send to Nicole for clarification. Julie asked Nicole to follow up but nothing so far.J. Parent

Employees unable to report to Gateway laid offCUPW: Employees with restrictions who are home and applying for Unemployment or Sunlife are being called back to work a day here and there. This is interfering with benefits. Need an agreement on how to proceed. CPC: CPC's position is that we will attempt to accommodate when we have the work available iwthin their restrictions. The employee will report their time worked to Service Canada so it can be adjusted accordingly.M. Deabreau

OT ProcessCUPW: Heard Malvern making a speaker announcement for OT or West Hill the other day. Want to ensure we are following the correct procedure. CPC: Penny informed them they were canvassing through equal op list, texting ee's and then requesting help through the zone office. The zone office would then email all sttions asking them to canvass their staff. Non-PT'd people should not be allowed to do PT call backs. Julie will check out names given -E.C.??J. Parent
Attrition Relief selection processCUPW: Wanted to ensure regular relief pick assignments first and attrition relief pick second. They should stay on an assignment until the end unless a regular relief did not get a choice. Then they could bump them. CPC: Penny sent an email to the supervisors regarding attrition relief picking second. Further discussion needed with LR regarding assignments.J. Mullett
Art. 54 positionsCUPW: Don Mills/R/O in a unique position as there are not enough people for designated rehab walks. Can we redistribute? CPC: Decided that positions would be bid on and people told they could be bumped but not to where. Mike says they were told they would become relief. Are they regular relief or attrition relief? If walk used permanently what happens to the ee that is being removed from the route? Permanently? Temporarily? Why are you treating Don Mills differently then other stations in the local? Will they be on the next bids? Discussions are taking place with CUPW as to what will happen with the Corporation's designated rehab walks and the employees currently encumbent in those positions. - STATUS QUOM. Deabreau
Willowdale 2 parking issuesCUPW: Neighbours unhappy as employees are not allowed to use the church parking lot anymore. Employees parking all over and getting tickets. CPC: Corporate rule is CPC does not pay for parking tickets. Employees were trying to work out an agreement with church. Leary will follow up with them.J. Wineck
Toner cartridgesCUPW: HRSDC directive relating to 66 Ray regarding the handling of cartridges. Who is supposed to be doing it? Are there special instructions? As far as George knows there has been no meeting. George will escalate it on his end. CPC: Look up safety talk.  
Stouffville and Markham LJOSH inspectionsCUPW: Prep and LJOSH meeting or tour to be held in under 1 hour. CPC: Deb. Nicholson to address. Kerry told Julie she gives as much time as necessary.D. Nicholson
H&S training for LJOSHCUPW: WBC, Stouffville and Maple reguire training. CPC: There are regular courses available Submit a list of names to Jim Wineck and Randy Saunders. DRS at WBCCUPW: Richmond Hill and Thornhill are deleting to make 1 DRS position to serve both stations. However there are 2 people doing it. CPC: Jim checked and only one person doing position. Sometimes give help but for most times doing it on her own. George Pratt says someone always there. Will get names.  
PT and prolonged work daysCUPW: With the prolonged work days, YDC drivers who had to transfer to LC positions are suffering. Supervisors are not empathetic (Willowdale 2). CPC: CUPW to provide specifics. Two names provided. Some people working over 40 hours a week on a regular basis. One ee received 22 trays of nonsequenced trays. Time needed for collating flyers. People having to eat on their runs and having to break their route to bring mail back for 6 p.m. Seems like the OT will never go away. CPC: Working on reducing nonsequenced mail. Seeking employee feedback to fix issues. CUPW will inform their membership that they do not have to work more than 48 hours a week.  
Cramped work space in AjaxCUPW: Cases are crammed in together. 2 isles are wide and 2 narrow. Ellen wants her case moved due to lack of space. Would like to switch it with the spare case. CPC: The whole role was shifted back and light will be moved within a week.G. Ramlochan
PPD casesCUPW: PPD reviews are taking too long to process and not getting a decision in a timely manner. Consultations are too

 PPD reviews are proceeding with GWMS according to a priority, based on age of PPD and upcoming restructure information.  
 The PPD reviews are concluding within standard time frames - if there are specific instances where this is not the case I  
 would ask these be specified and raised to me. All reviews which have currently been requested will be actioned prior to Dec 31  
Gateway East Delivery SectionCUPW: Mike wants LJOSH minutes for Gateway for the last year. Displaced ee were told no modified duties as you will  
 be standing for 8 hours. However, now there is movement of IDC carts to the dock. Does this open up possible

Proposal to change LCA hoursAjax - 1 FT position 4-12, 1 position 10-6 2 pt 5-8 proposal move one full time to 7-3 1 part time position to 3-6 and one 5-8.  
 With change of hours positions do not go up for bids. They cannot bump. Can canvass two part timers. Can put into  
 effect for next Monday unless there are issues. Then would be Monday after.

Overtime/extended hours at GATEWAYGateway is an instalation. Any extended hours 39.07 39.04 39.05 crosses post office. If they are going to offer extra hours they should be offering extra hours for the rest of the plant. CPC: Discussions set to take place with Toronto Local and Gateway so we can attempt to apply uniform for both Metro East and West Post Offices.M. DeAbeau

Bulletin re bidding after restructureCPC: Won't happen until March. National consultation has been held where CPC has stated that we will commence the bidding upon the restructure exercise being completed. Further discussions will be held locally when the next restructures are approaching.
