Where an employee is absent within the exemption otherwise allowing the employer to use casuals or terms as a replacement the employer recognizes, pursuant to the Regional Consultation meetings (Jan. 17, 1994), that it has a responsibility to offer the temporary vacancy to surplus employees whose status has not been formalized.
The parties, in any event, agree to meet with a view to matching the temporary vacancies with the casual assignments.
