CEASE & DESIST

HEARING ON THE MERITS

On October 16, 2013 the National Union filed an application under Clause 9.87 asking for a “Cease and Desist Order” concerning the employers proposal to merge the East & West Post Offices and move people around.

The Hearings on the merits for the Cease & Desist application for an interlocutory injunction (Cease & Desist) was supposed to start on March 13, 2014 has been delayed. The hearings dates scheduled so far are: April 30, May 26, and Aug 13, 2014.

As long as the Cease & Desist application is in place and the hearings proceed, no employees will be forced from the East C&D Post Office to the West C&D Post Office.

The employer has requested consultations on the elimination of the MSC operation at 1860 Midland / YDC in June 2014 and it’s impact on MSC’s and Clerks.

Once there is more information available we will provide it to you.
