December 01, 2011

On December 1, 2011, Canada Post sent a National notice under Article 6 changing the configuration of the East and West Post Offices, along with South Central (SCLPP) and Gateway.

The employer intends to move the current “Final Sort” from the stations back to SCLPP for the Scarborough Local and Gateway for the Toronto Local. No consultations have taken place as of yet, and the employers plans are unclear, piece-meal, all at once or holus-bolus, time frames, and many other questions.

Consultations have been arranged for December 12, 2011 for prior 29.03(b) notices impacting some stations. Final Sort consultations won’t happen until late December. Article 6 is somewhat complex, but in essence SCLPP becomes an “installation” in the “East Post Office” on January 1, 2012, and new “SCLPP Section” exists on March 3, 2012. CPC plans to move Group 1 employees to SCLPP shortly there after.

Ultimately some Group 1 employees will be moving in the spring, but I can’t tell you who or when. Don’t forget at CPC we are all a team, your boss is looking out for your best interests, and your boss is sending you to SCLPP.

Once there is more information available we will provide it to you.

In Solidarity
