The Local consulted on the delivery of socio-economic cheques in a strike/lock out on May 27, 2011.  CPC minutes are pending and should be posted in every order book by Monday May 30, 2001.

Appropriate cheques for distribution will be delivered on Monday June 20th, 2011 to our customers.

Participating government agencies will supply their cheques on Thursday June 9th, 2011. SCLPP will induct/process the cheques on Tuesday June 14th, 2011. For the purpose of this local, 5 tons from Toronto will deliver cheques to Stations on Friday June 17th, 2011.

To affect delivery, CPC has indicated a couple P04’s will be required for each station. CPC plans on a general rule of 2 routes being cover by 1 carrier, so about half the carriers will work. There will also be a rover to deliver miss sorts. Volunteer’s, will be by unit or section by seniority, with a $50 payment. CPC assured payment but was unclear on method, when, or taxable aspects.

Any vehicle claiming delivery of checks is subject to inspection, as per the National MOA on the issue. RSMCs’s will deliver their own route.  CPC has indicated RSMC’s will not be laid off, but things may change, it’s not a local call.

The Local raised issues concerning who was doing LCA and DRS duties. We also raised concerns about GD and Callers collecting checks. CPC will respond shortly.
