RSMC EMPLOYEES

URBAN INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE

RSMC members must report to work in the event CUPW Urban employees are locked out or are on strike. RSMC members who do not report to work are subjected to discipline up to and including discharge, and the termination of any EI benefits if picketing.

RSMC members must not perform Urban employee work under any circumstance. Your Collective Agreement is in full force, APOC & Mgt will sort the mail for you if it arrives!

While it may seem strange that some CUPW members are working while others are on strike, it is proper. Ironically, next year RSMC’s will be on strike for some of the same issues, and Urban members will be expected to report for work. All the more reason for a single contract.

There is a National Memorandum of Agreement in place for delivery of Social Assistance Checks, and we hope to arrange a similar agreement for RSMC mail Locally.

RSMC MEMBERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO REPORT TO WORK SUBJECT TO NORMAL PICKET LINE DELAYS. A PASS SYSTEM IS BEING WORKED OUT.

Please respect these employees, our sisters and brothers are caught in an unpleasant situation.

In Solidarity
