NEW SENIORITY

ANNUAL LEAVE, MONTHLY BIDS, WEST BEAVER CREEK RESTRUCTURE

The National parties are close to releasing the new Seniority Lists. At the same time they have agreed to delay the start of the Annual Leave draws, the monthly bids and in particular the restructure bidding at West Beaver Creek (Thornhill and Richmond Hill Depot 20).

Any current monthly bid, Stations or YDC, Group 1 (Clerks) or Group 2 (Letter Carriers or Mail Service Couriers) with a reporting date in January 2008 will use the new seniority dates and you should take this into account when making your selections.

Equal Opportunity Overtime / Extended Hour lists will have to be altered and re-set to zero.

There are significant changes in the order of the lists due to the changes. Members gained time in various amounts, from as little as seven (7) days to several years (14 years).

As an example, of 1306 FT LC’s a total of 1171 LC’s had a change in their Seniority Dates. Twelve (12) employees saw their Continuous Service Dates and hence their new Seniority Dates rolled back to an earlier date (Admail, casual, errors). Six (6) employees did not get their Continuous Service Date as their Seniority Date as they had time in Non-CUPW, Non-CPC positions.
