PSAC/UPCE STRIKE ACTION

PICKET LINES AT 280 PROGRESS & 1860 MIDLAND

Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada / Union of Postal Communication Employees will be taking strike action in the very near future as they have not been able to resolve their contract dispute with Canada Post Corporation.

The most visible and direct effect is that picket lines may appear at any time at 280 Progress Ave. and 1860 Midland Ave. This will delay entering and exiting these locations for our members and the general public. The Local will have Full Time Officer on site if there are problems.

The other impact maybe on areas of staffing, pay, benefits and the processing of administrative changes, which may affect some members adversely.

These are members who work for Canada Post under the same “Management Team” that we are exposed to. They have many valid concerns and generally have less benefits and protections in their collective agreement than we do.

If you encounter a Picket Line at these two locations, or in the course of delivery to another facility, please ensure you treat these members with dignity and respect. Stop and listen to their concerns and give them the support they deserve.

If you have a problem, contact the PSAC Picket Capitan, or this office.

In Solidarity

Mike Duquette
President
Scarborough Local
