Topic: Coverage for Annual Leave

The Corporation advised the Union that currently part-time hrs to assist in the UMO are difficult to obtain, the YDC schedules are not workable to the UMO. Based on the information provided to the manager from the YDC.

The Union presented the schedule for review which shows the PT hrs being

            06:00 – 10:00  and 07:00 –11:00  for the day shift and

            17:30 – 21:30 for the afternoon shift.

The Corporation then suggested that as most of the leave occurred during the summer July / August  a summer rotation schedule could be created removing some of the lesser priority duties.

The Union suggested that the use of number one shift employees on premium hrs would provide some assistance.

The Corporation had some concern in double shifting employee.

The parties then reviewed the FT schedule to see the finish times.

The Union advised that some changes to the schedule may be required in the future as the work levels out in YDC. As such the parties may want to review this issue again.

The Corporation advised that the biggest concern is July/August as there is minimual leave left for the CUPW employees, so there is some time to review any changes that might occur.

The Union advised upon looking at the PT schedule an opportunity to use those on employees on unscheduled days is a possibility.

The Corporation will review with the YDC manager with respect to the schedule and take the suggestion under advisement.

The parties agreed to meet again once the review of the schedules, if done, by YDC has occurred.

Meeting adjourned.
