Parcel Hubs

       And Delivery

Will safety shoes be required and supplied by Canada Post at the three Parcel Hubs?

The implementation of the new Parcel Model will not change the rules for safety shoe areas nor the entitlements as specified in the Collective agreement.  It is anticipated that most employees in the Parcel Delivery organization will require safety shoes due to the close proximity of rolling stock and equipment.

Will all workers in this new Parcel Hub have to get Vehicle Operators Permits?

Yes.

I was in the area of the new parcel sorter in the West Parcel Hub and I noticed that the lighting was very poor.  Is Canada Post going to make this better?

Lighting levels will be tested and brought up to an acceptable standard.

Can you tell the workers why we don’t use the tunnel at the West Parcel Hub to get the parcels over, and with the new sorter, is the tunnel going to be filled in?

The tunnel will not be required for the operation; however, at this time there are no plans to fill it in.

As a worker in the Bulk Mail Facility, I would like signs to show where the fire hoses are and also where the first aid station is.

Both are identified by signs.  Please ask your supervisor to help you become oriented in this area.

Will Canada Post let us the workers have winter coats?

A point system is in place for clothing, so individuals can order what they need within the limitations of their available points.

If I work in the West Parcel Hub, will I be able to report to the MSC office and be able to go to through the turn-style in that area to enter the facility?

You will be able to use the West Parcel Hub turn-style and you will be expected to report to your work area.
