Notes

Responsibility

Due Date

9:00 AM

Rocky calls the meeting to order.

CPC - Would like to set up meeting w/ Duquette, Killy, MacKenzie, Gualtieri, Paliwal, Keery, & Gilbert to ensure we are all discussing issues surrounding Parcel Model and to eliminate discussions elsewhere about these issues. Also real estate plan. Will avoid trying to deal with our issues at other meetings.

CUPW – Will discuss.

CPC – E-mail sent out April 16, 2004 with respect to volume capture is not our position. All parties involved have been spoken to. Apology forthcoming. Rocky apologizes on behalf of team.

CPC – Will check on distribution of weekly minutes and agendas. IRMA demonstration next week.

CUPW – What are we starting to restructure?

CPC – Three lops at YDC. Need to agree on delivery rates etc. Will attempt to get parties together tomorrow to discuss data. (Meeting scheduled for this afternoon instead – Toronto able to attend)

CUPW – Will not be anyone there from Toronto Local. Executive meeting.

CPC – Will discuss with Scarborough tomorrow and set up subsequent meeting with Toronto. Next Thursday’s many of us will be in Oakville. Do we need this meeting next week?

CUPW – Agree. No meeting next week. Concerned about distribution of parcels and pollution issues.

CPC – Depots are getting credit for parcels in their restructures.

CUPW – Not getting credit for all parcels. Issue with volume base. Only addresses mix and where they are. Need to include other sources of data. Sources of data don’t appear to be complete.

CPC – Don’t understand what data is not good.

CUPW – September on plus issues of sub-delivery values.

CPC – Specifically?

CUPW – Attributes and distribution from contractor database.

CPC – Can make some calls tomorrow at meeting and resolve. May still be some pollution after implementation of Model. Fluctuates.

CUPW – Have to find some way for keyers to extract. Has to go through either Small Packet Sorter or LPS. No mid range sorter.

CPC – Will have to agree on something tomorrow. MSCs in stations are getting credit.

CUPW – Not getting credit. Most stations have not had Plan A’s since for several years and they were not getting credit then.

CPC – Not going to be resolved here. Will have to be resolved at meeting tomorrow. Tomorrow is to get at the numbers.

CUPW – Need to establish that data is accurate. Need delivery rates and profile as well. Spent yesterday’s meeting working on carding.

CPC – Will set up meeting to discuss profile.

CUPW – Rumours that drivers will be loading their own trucks.

CPC – No.

CUPW – Sundays?

CPC – Sundays are different. Winnipeg drivers load their own trucks.

CUPW – No.

CUPW – Will look at. Still looking at part-time POL-4’s.

CPC – If required.

CUPW – Will need to discuss rationale with us and demonstrate necessity for part-time. None in Winnipeg and not discussed at negotiations.

CPC – Was discussed at negotiations. Job description does not refer to full-time only and there was discussion around loading window requirements etc.

CUPW – Information coming out is not all accurate.

CPC – Trying to keep ahead of game by floating as much information out there as possible.

CUPW – Problem is that members are making their decisions regarding their futures based on this information. Different processes being done at same time at YDC i.e. sampling, sequencing etc. and are being challenged for their overtime.

CPC – Will verify problem and respond.

CUPW – BMF issue around pollution. Nothing rectified yet except for sign being put up but position not staffed. Induction staff has not been instructed to extract anything.

CPC – Bob Knox will request action items in place re: pollution from J. Caswell.

CUPW – Rumours at BMF. Multiple start times. Five starting times is the current rumour.

CPC – Will start at same time each week but there may be different times for days of the week. Communications will issue response outlining approach to start times. Not firm yet.

CUPW – Drivers going to RPO’s to pick up different scanners?

CPC - No

CUPW – Some drivers also believe they must carry enough personal money to make change for COD’s.

CPC – Absolutely not. Not what is being trained. Not under any obligation to make change.

CUPW – National consultation n – issue of tubs was raised. Asked what CPC’s intention was.

CPC – Looking to expand use of tubs in SLB’s. Tech change notice is drafted and has been sent fore translation.

CUPW – Letter carrier count for Brampton?

CPC – No plans right now for Brampton. Full scale count scheduled for September. Intent is to do 5 day volume count in Unionville and EDC  to determine impact of incoming parcel volumes.

CUPW – Have concern regarding credit for interim volumes at Brampton between now and September.  Commercial pickups sampling.

CPC – Can discuss at this afternoon’s meeting.
