Rocky calls the meeting to order

We welcome Mike.

The agenda – fequentcy of meetings : our feeling is that, they may not be required, every week. We wish to appoint Bob Knox as the point man to call meetings as nessary.

Staffing at the hubs.

We plan to go ahead with staff of the finacial part, 12 – 8 pm. As we go forward, staffing will be added. We wish that these people fall under our supervision.

CUPW – There will be 12 people?

CPC – Yes. The paxis shall be operational, in july. The locals will still be sorted by us, (west PDD) everything else will go to the other side.

CUPW – t was said, that there will be part time clerks?

CPC – We don’t know the profile yet.

CUPW – We are not agreeing to any part time clerks.

CPC – We need PT in the afternoon shift. Similar to what we have now.

CUPW – YDC supervisor are telling our members, that this WILL happen.

CPC – We have addressed this

CUPW – There has been no consultation yet. You can not go forward with this!

CPC – Within the next two weeks, more of this will become clear.

CUPW – We have heard that drivers will be loading the trucks.

CPC – Tell us who, we will address this.

CUPW – West beaver creek drivers have heard this.

CPC – Our next comunication going out (to Delivery) shall address these very issues.

CUPW – We want a commitment in 3 months time to re examine the staffing issues such as part time.

CPC – Agreed.

CPC – COD process, we have a package ready, process as well as what to do with monies collected.

A safe will go in, YDC shall hand off to 280 progress, etc.

The keying station will track the product, via event manager. This is just for the interm, as the new system will track everything. The MSC going to RPOs will have locked “bags”.

CUPW – You are going to put a retail clerk with in a supervisors office?

CPC – They will require a sercure place with a computer and desk, safe, and file cabinet to maintain the product, and monies.

The the new keying stations are shown, and will be shared.

CUPW – Are chairs going to be included with this station, such as 1 Yonge. It may be required, as members should not be standing for 8 hours! A foot rest should also be examined. Maybe the health and safty committee should look at this.

CPC – If the workers are taking product from a mono, a chair is not practical. But we are open to look at this.

Chairs will be reviewed on a site to site bases. Fatique mating was provided at all 3 hubs. There will be new mating for the workers when the machines are operational. Please provide any areas where you feel matting is required. This will be addressed.

CUPW – we shall.

CPC – Pickup rate. As a result of meetings (re hand out of results) we wish to identify at YDC , the training of MSC’s will begin. Not all items need to be scanned.

CUPW – Has a manifest been printed yet? (summerary…) How is this verified? This is a timed activity, and is required.

CPC – We shall look at what is available, and understand that this is important.

CUPW – If I pickup 10 items, and scan a customer manifest, but the parcels do not agree with what was scanned, we may lose customers due to errors.

CPC – This is part of the SOLID process and should have been identified at the source. The bar codes on the (for example) bags of house holders iteadify the bag but not the contents.

CUPW – Correct, that is the where problems occur.

CPC – This is all part of “Best practices”

CUPW – In the software, if say parcel 3 of 10 is a COD will this be identified?

CPC – The shipping tools will have all the details, and will be part of event manager.

CUPW – Why is the mail pollution issue not being captured?

CPC – We are not getting quality data from the stations.

CUPW – West beaver creek has told us that they are using 7 hours a day to delivery parcels they are not in their time values.  This is an ongoing problem! At least 27 years ago this was captured. There is a form that exsisted to capture the station parcels.

CPC – We will get this form, then we will try our best to get this in 1 yonge, and PDD. This has been and will most likely continue. We are instructing the keyers to remove the parcels from the AO stream.

Sequensing There are 15 loops (YDC)

CUPW – We do not have a readable (large enough) map for that activity. Further the secheduling is behind, YDC was to be done already!

CPC – We understood that they were already in your possestion.

CUPW – We do not have them.

CPC – Murlin will provide them.

CUPW – 5 day count? Versus 10 day?  This is not acceptable. (Brampton, Unionville) This is to verify a count.

CPC – This is to look at what if any impact there maybe.

CUPW – The restate Plan.

Rocky – I will get you a date for this. The aplogly will also be done today.

CUPW – Delivery sampling? You are not going to do any more…? Our view is that this be done next week.

CPC – YDC has been done.

CUPW – Be aware that the Toronto loops, may not be (delivery rates) the same. Will there be a blended rate?

CPC – We will look at the data to see where this applies.

CUPW – We are asking for what the formula is to create the rate.

CPC – We will talk with Rob, to find out why we are behind. We do not have the formula but will address this.

CUPW – This is import information for the whole exercise.

CPC – Agreed. Union leave? We need to know who and what role each of you takes part in.

CUPW – There are observes for each route, so keep this in mind. We need more notice.

CPC – We info you as soon as we know. If you have issues with this call us.

Next meeting ---
