Due Date

9:50 AM

Rocky welcomes the group.

New issues

We will be ready to start showing looping in Oakville, one observer for each HUB. CPC explains how it generated Volume information. FSA + UEC. CPC has provided CUPW 2 CD’s with the data, this included the daily FSA, LPS, and UEC. Priority was not included. CPC will show CUPW 3 different scenarios based upon the data to date. CUPW has concern about pickup data.

Formal introductions 10:20

CPC explains how we define a pickup in terms of cargo van verses 5 ton. This will be refined. Rocky tells group that a script is in the plan to contact all customers, to ensure the pickups will continue. 1001 pickups are current. Rocky wishes to ensure that the scanners and the IDBs are audited for the accuracy of pickups. CUPW wants to be sure that current routes are properly measured. Franchises must be addressed now, both CUPW and CPC agree. CUPW has data where 5 ton pickups are being done, they should be light vehicle. CUPW believes a list of suspect pickups should be complied. Rocky puts forth that this issue be tabled after Aug. Steve has data that there is weekend delivery,

Rocky has knowledge of Flex delivery but not of any other. Rocky wants more information. Mail pollution is still an issue. The issue must be addressed. Regular parcels for MSC’s are still going to station. Rocky will discuss with Jim Gilbert arrange for volume sample to identify the problem. CUPW suggested Toronto J, for sampling.

No read trailer at gateway, has this issue been addressed. CUPW claims that the jackpot is receiving the no reads. CUPW claims that the jackpot, is cycling multiple times. It was then explained that no reads go to jackpot, then are keyed at north induction.

11:30 break 11:45 return from break.

MMC data is included on CD.

CUPW where are we in facility construction?  Staffing levels at YDC, 4 staff members will be added. Keying package will be available Friday.

Staffing and the roles they will play are still not, fully understood at this time. A consultation will take place at a later time. Rocky will contact Peter.  Marion informs all, that when the BMF changes its finals, YDC will receive their product without separations. (PRIME).

CUPW would like the possibility of more than one observer per site.

Marion will look at the MO routes, and help provide data. CUPW wants it clear that MO and CUPW are not operating in the same FSAs, during sampling.

CUPW wants to be clear about “keyer” training. Rocky wishes this issue to be deferred till next meeting.

Marion brings up that cameras are to be installed on the machines, for problem solving issues. YDC, the machine should be fully constructed by June.

There were some questions about the future jobs. Rocky explains that information will be shared on a timely manner. It is hoped that this will reduce rumours. There are problems with a hamper. What are we going to do about over sized parcels? CUPW raised issues, on bending. Hamper design not yet set, further consultation will take place. CPC looking at a permanent solution for hampers.

Next meeting: Thursday Feb 5, 2004 at 9:00 – 600 commissioners.
