Y.D.C., February 16, 2004

On February 16 2004,  the Parcel Model Project Route Sampling started back up at the YDC.  The product sent to the UEC (Maritime - Ontario) for two FSA's was diverted to the YDC for delivery rate tests.  The two FSA's tested were M1K and M4E. Clicking on the links to the left, will show the Power Point maps of the FSAs.  The equivalent LC Stations were portions of Scarborough Depot 11 and Toronto Station H.  There were a number of problems with the first day, but better from the last test, maybe?

Below is a series of images from the YDC and a short description.

In the last sampling the bottle-neck was around the CPC software, late product arrival, keying stations, and areas of coverage in the sampling.  Some improvements were made in some areas.  The keying stations were set up with semi-proper workstations and a roller system for parcels.  Sampling areas were modified.  In this picture we see both keying stations used for the keying of the parcels for the two FSA's, M1K and M4E. The employees lift items out of mono's or bags, place them on a table or the rollers, and key in the data and affix a label.  Note the chairs and Fatique mats.  (Double Clicking on a Picture will make it go Full Screen!)

In the image below, we can see the product for delivery for one (1) FSA, it is still early in the morning, mail is still expected, the drivers have not arrived yet.  This shows the space required for two (2) MSC tours and the number of racks, this is one (1) FSA.  Under the Parcel Model Project, which combines SLB Clearances, PUFF, RPO Clearances, and Parcel Delivery, it could be more than two (2) tours.

This also shows how the Sequencing of Parcels is done on the racks, with Separate Racks for ranges of items in a Loop.  This shows routes 429 & 429A showing parcels in each sequence in the testing.

Below are some of the Parcels for 429A, one of the tours in the FSA.  (Double Clicking on a Picture will make it go Full Screen!)

Below are most of the Parcels for 429A, one of the tours in the FSA.  It includes three racks, parcels on the floor and Parcels on the flatbed (C-8) obscured by the MSC in the picture.  (Double Clicking on a Picture will make it go Full Screen!)
