MINUTES OF MONTHLY CONSULTATION

BETWEEN

GTA-DELIVERY-TORONTO EAST

CUPW-SCARBOROUGH LOCAL

MAPLE

 

The union stated that they received the last LOSH minutes, however not utilizing the agreed upon format. J. Coe to send to B. Pricop. L. Waine has requested copies of any prior minutes to be sent to Scarborough local.

 

The union stated that the LJOSH is to include RSMC member(s), G. Pratt to send confirmation in writing of this to L. Waine.    

 

IDENTIFICATION OF ON-CALL RELIEF & HELPERS

 

Zones 5 and 7 have been sent, Zone 6 to be confirmed.  .    

 

RACKS-WBC

 

A supplier continues still not to be available to provide C-31s. The Corporation continues to seek a supplier. The union stated that C22 carts are to be affixed with a sticker provided by the HRSDC identifying weight restrictions. This matter has been investigated with OH&S representatives who have no knowledge of this from the HRSDC. There are no stickers to place on this equipment. In most instances C22s are not so identified, although some have been observed affixed.  

 

The union stated that RSMC are utilizing C22 racks to load vehicles. D. Beckner to be requested to provide comment.   

 

SATURDAY DELIVERY

On a recent Friday a snowstorm occurred and management advised employees of no delivery on this day, some employees sorted their mail, however employees were advised to report and deliver on the Saturday. It is the union’s position that this constitutes overtime and is to be paid accordingly.   

 

BI WEEKLY PAY

 

The union stated that some pay cheques have been adversely impacted. The VOTS report for pay defects will address as new information is received.  

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

MAPLE

 

The union stated that there have been changes involving CPAA and APOC representatives and responsibilities, request reporting structure.

 

Management to update.

 

Stouffville & Rich Hill RPO CLEARANCES

 

The union stated that the union has received no information as to any contracting out of RPO clearances in these areas.

 

B. Dawe and J. Wineck to review.

 

RSMC SAFETY TRAINING

 

The union stated that some RSMC have not received pay for safety training.

 

Management requested a list of names be sent to the managers responsible for individual areas and will address.

 

BI WEEKLY PAY CONTACT

 

The union stated that employees are being advised not to call Ceridian, calls now to go to CPC Payroll, there has been no information provided to the union. This is adding an additional three to four days of delays.

 

Managers will review.

 

NEW PDT TRAINING

 

The union inquired if employees will receive pay, the training is one and a half to two hours in duration.

 

Management to respond.

 

GORMLEY

 

The union stated that approximately 300 to 350 new POC will be added in August or September 2009, additional space is required, presently there is insufficient room for sortation racks.

 

B. Dawe to address and respond.

 

MODIFIED DUTIES

 

The union stated that in St. Catherine’s modified work assignments are being offered for sortation of letter mail, why this type of work can not be made available in East Delivery.

 

Management to review and confirm.

 

MAPLE START TIME

 

The union stated that RSMCs are being advised that they are required to start by 06:00 hours, if an official start time is being enforced, employees should be working an eight (8) hour day.

 

Issue will be addressed with B. Pricop.

 

PICKERING RELIEF

 

The union stated that there is one on call relief for 6 routes. Consequently there is little work for the relief.

 

SS4 MAPLE

 

The union stated that this route has not been staffed in three years, employee in a LMR, should be staffed.

 

Management to review status of employee.   

 

Next meeting date in April to be arranged due to scheduled arbitration.
