Kimti Aggarwal                                       George Tomaszewski

Allison McDougall                                   Ellen Sigouin

Carded Items

The Union asked if the issue of the Letter Carrier and MSC’s going to different RPO’s has been resolved.   They further stated 254 Morning side and 364 Old Kingston Rd are the areas of concern.

Management stated that the RMO will set up the boundaries. We have advised John Salter (who is currently in Ottawa) of the concerns.  He will be addressing the concerns upon return. Unionville and Markham have been put forward for review as well.

Security at YDC

The Union request an update for the security at YDC. Specifically,  the implementation of key pads at the YDC Facility as well as a process for external emergencies.

Labour Relations advised the Union that a meeting is scheduled for February 26, 2009 to review the agenda and options.  Dan Haller from Security was on sight February 11, 2009 for Security Awareness week.

Security Dan Haller and Brent Driver will be the leads contacts for the Threat Risk Assessment (scheduled Feb.26, 2009).

The Union request that a member from the Union be involved.

The Corporation will follow up with Security and advise as to when the Union will be invited to join the meeting.

YDC Renovations

The Union requests updates on the YDC renovations.  They further asked if the MMHE lines have been painted.

The Corporation advised that the MMHE painting will occur at the end of the month, 2 Saturdays for the line painting have been outlined.  The painting didn’t occur previously due to a delay in providing the Union with a Project Notification.  Bill Hutchison has been presented with the notification. There are no other outstanding renovations.

Bar Charts

The Union asks if the Corporation has had the opportunity to review their proposal.

Management apologized for not reviewing the proposal.  Management commits to reviewing the proposal by the end of the week.

Term Lists

The Union asked if the term list had been sent.  Will they be posted and how many are on the list?

Management has sent the term list to Angelo………… If the Union is looking for additional information you will have to let us know.  The list has been posted, but we have not posted what the employees are covering.  There are approximately 100 to 109 terms on the list.

Equal Opportunity Lists

The Union has concerns with the list when employees transfer into facilities.  The numbering system is not being utilized.  The employees that transfer in are to be recorded at the highest opportunity.  When Management is canvassing for overtime the last person they ask should be one who accepts.

The Corporation suggest consultation to zero out the opportunity lists.

Article 54

The Union stated that the next scheduled Article 54 meeting is February 25, 2009.  It was further expressed that an employee is sitting home on compensation when there is a position in the station.  The Union states that they still have concerns with the bubble sheets.

Management will be in attendance at the Article 54 meeting.  At this time the employees’ individual circumstances will be discussed.  The bubble sheets were adjusted according to the template that was provided to us by the Union.  If you would like to review it again, we will.

Accident Investigation

Management stated that in the event of an accident they have been leaving Leary Charles a voice mail.  The concern the Corporation has is that there is not always going to be a Union representative on shift available to participate in the investigations.  It is our position that we do not want to hold up the process (sair) when investigating an accident.  Management suggested that a PO 4 be assigned to represent the Union because they are always in the building.

Management expressed to the Union that the Corporation is taking Health and Safety very seriously.  There is a focus from all levels.  The focus is prevention.  It is expected that we act quickly and promptly.  We have seen some improvement and are looking forward to future improvements.  We will provide you a detailed account of Busuyi’s actions.

The Union has concerns with the radios at the YDC.  They suggest that a process be implemented where by the radio’s are assigned to a specific supervisor at the YDC.  The LJOSH  positions are elected not assigned.

Management agreed to review the process for the radios.

Flex Drivers

At this point in the meeting Ken Davidson joins.

The Union’s position is that the Corporation can not offer a Full Time Flex

What about Tours 252 and 261?

Management informed the Union that starting tomorrow for a period of one week a supervisor will be assessing best practices on the tours.  An RMO will then conduct a full assessment with the Union on board.  Both parties agreed that tour 251 needed to be assessed.

Article 34/Uniforms

Management told the Union that the uniforms for clerks are managed on a point system based on SAP.  The clerks have all been given their points in the system.  All PO 4’s are getting the boot allowance.

Swipe Clocks

The Union state that the January minutes state details to follow. What does this mean?

Management responds that it is reference to the line painting in front of the clocks.  Once the lines are painted it will a designated pedestrian walk way, free of any equipment and machinery?

Revised MSC Training

The Union asked Management if they have heard anything in regards to a revised training program.  Appendix DD states that PO 4 employees and all new hires are required to attend a 4 hour module. It seems as though the MSC’s are being asked to attend, but the older employees have not been included.

Management advised that when a new hire is brought into the YDC an orientation is completed with the employee.  Joe Maher will have a running list of the employees that have received the training.  We will follow up.

Round Table

The Union received a letter from the GLT, group 3 and 4 are no longer being managed out of SCLPP.  We will need a contact list.

Management provided the Union with the name Phil Veschio.  Fred will follow up with an email to Mike Duquette providing the details of the contact information.

The Union would like to know where the Latex gloves that use to be provided to the employees are?

Management advised the Union that gloves, all sizes have been placed in the office because some employees were taking advantage.  The gloves were being left on the floor and in monotainers.  Please remind the members to place the gloves in the garbage cans.

The Union had some concerns with RPO’s being closed on Family Day.  Where there any adjustments made in consideration of Family Day?

The Corporation gave the employees instructions to card the items and deliver to the RPO the next day.  The process was not changed in the PDSL.  The items would be scanned as HOLD business closed.
