February 10, 2009

Scarborough Local

Attendees:

CPC                                                                         CUPW

Randy Saunders                                                   Mike Duquette

Kellie Gamble                                                       Leary Charles

Agenda:

  1. Staffing Changes

The Union raised concerns regarding the deletion of 1 Part-time PO-4 position number 83007309 effective March 23, 2009 from the Thornhill Delivery Centre.  The Corporation had provided notice to this deletion on March 11, 2009 and also provided notice of the creation of a PT LCA effective March 23, 2009 at the Thornhill Delivery Centre.

The Union raised concerns whether or not the Corporation made changes to the rotation of duties schedule when it was deleted.  Furthermore, the union suggested that should endeavour to review the rotation of duties of the schedule when deleting positions because there may be Article 54 considerations.   The Corporation will review and respond.  The Corporation will follow up with PCR on the staffing information request that was made prior to the Consultation.

The Union raised concerns about the position not being placed into the bid, the Corporation will review if a staffing requisition was completed and advise the union accordingly of the position number.
