MINUTES OF MONTHLY CONSULTATION

ERGO HELPERS

 

In response to the union’s question, management stated that ERGO helpers were provided to alleviate repetitive strain injuries where required and as such are not provided or intended for short term usage by “replacements”. Accordingly in the situation raised, a RSMC could enlist the services of a replacement, displacing and acting for the present ERGO helper, and that replacement while covering the RSMCs vacation would not be required to have an ERGO assistant present.

 

The union stated they would review.

 

SENIORITY LISTS

 

The union requested an updated seniority list.

 

Management stated that a list had been received and sent out, will post in all RSMC facilities.

 

MALVERN-ON-CALL RELIEF

 

The union stated and questioned if on-call relief would be added @ 280 Progress now that Malvern is domiciled @ 280 Progress Ave. The union’s position from their national is that the number of RSMC in a particular location triggers the on call relief criteria.

 

Management stated they would review and obtained the following position. On-call relief were established by the joint Transition Committee. The locations identified with on-call relief or any amalgamation does not trigger any additional on-call relief utilizing any criteria.  

 

UNIONVILLE

 

The union stated that the case strips have yet to be completed from June, 2007.

 

Management stated that these have been completed.

 

The union stated that routes have been altered since, case strips not updated. The union is to provide for management to review. Concerns relating to updates was raised, G. Pratt to assist.

 

PAYMENT OF DAILY RATE OF PAY

 

Clarification was provided concerning a RSMC absence and the use of a replacement. The replacement is to receive the daily rate of pay, article 14:02 applies. 

 

WSIB-BENEFITS

 

The union requested clarification of whether a RSMC retains benefit coverage while on injury on duty leave. Management has confirmed that this leave is a legislated leave and benefits would continue.
