AIR TESTING DON MILLS, AJAX, 280 PROGRESS 7 DEPOT 11

 

The union stated its position that the air circulation @ Don Mills is below standard. The union wishes a test for dust be conducted @ 280 Progress Ave. Depot 11, and Ajax. The union requested the replacement name for T. Alexouploulos.

 

Management stated they would attempt to obtain the Pichon results and supply. It is not known whether air circulation testing is reflected. If it is it will be forwarded. If available, will send to Local and H&S representative.  

 

RESTRUCTURING EXERCISES

 

D. Stever provided attendees a copy of the draft changes for the next twelve months. There will be extensive sampling within next 12 months. C&D Support wishes to attend monthly meetings regularly to discuss any issues that may arise.

 

The union stated that they believe there is a difference in handling mails involving Pub and Ad mails, the issues have been raised to the national level.

 

WILLOWDALE DEPOT 2

 

The union stated that within 12 months eleven walks have been sampled, a difference in time values of 375 minutes gained in over assessment. A measurement of 100% is being used. Management may implement the 120 POC assessment, employees are believing that there is something wrong with their assessments, wish for article 50 evaluations. Management to review to determine if issues involve inside or outside values. Operations conduct pre-article 50 reviews. Article 50 requests will be reviewed with T. Parkes, will do 12 month review with the 120 POC review. The schedule is reflected in the draft, however is subject to change.

 

Malvern is updated, T. Parkes to be involved.

 

RLC’S WORKING IN STATIONS

 

The union stated that erroneous information exists for walk splits. Management stated that information is not posted, work continues to be performed.

 

WSIB-PRODUCTION BONUSES

 

K. Davidson to provide names to R. Carroll for review and discussion with Payroll.

 

INCREASED NUMBER OF COMPRESSED HH

 

The union stated that there is an increase of instances involving compressed HH, it is overburdening, what can be done to assist.

 

Management stated that processing issues have occurred at the West plant, customer requests for delivery impact. Instances of overburdening are to be addressed through the Admail Service Centre. It was reflected that the new c/a outlines discussion between national representatives, some are systems issues.

 

The union stated that one route @ WBC has an improper count; the route holder has to obtain UADS from the overage bin. The union requests an audit for the last 6 months, the employee is reflected as receiving 72, however there are 720 POC.

 

Management stated they would review.  

 

UAD SPLITS-MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES

 

The union stated that there are issues involving MP/MPP delivery electoral boundaries, walk specific may include POC outside electoral boundaries.

 

Management to review.

 

ARTICLE 54 TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATIONS-CHANGES WITH RESPECT TO MEDICAL

 

The union inquired whether an employee requesting one day’s accommodation must provide a medical.

Management stated that there has been no change to the present practice. The requirement to submit substantiation continues where required.

 

CORPORATE UNIFORMS-GOODWILL

 

The union stated that a recent new hire purchased corporate shirts @ Goodwill. The union wishes the matter escalated.

 

Management to review.

 

PRIVACY ISSUES-280 PROGRESS-INFORMATION ON SUPERVISORY DESKS

 

The union stated that privacy concerns exist with information being left on supervisor’s desks, issue has been previously addressed @ WBC.

 

Management stated that the issue has been addressed.

 

COMMUNICATION OF MOA-UADS

 

The union stated that communication must be improved with supervisors to ensure they are aware of extended delivery standards. Communication should include time values for the completion of Satisfaction Surveys.

 

Management stated that employees are being provided time to complete, not time values.                      

280 PROGRESS AVENUE-INFORMATION BOOK POSTINGS

 

The union questioned where postings will occur given that due to construction the glass cases have been removed.

 

Management stated that they will continue to be placed in the glass cases; however, mounted on the wall, employees will be advised.

 

WEST HILL LCA POSTION

 

The union questioned when this position will be posted.

 

Management stated it was being held out for article 54 discussions. OPI officers will review which are considered 54 assignments.

 

DON MILLS-TAXI ROUTES

 

The union states that employees are being instructed to place registers under the office door rather than return to the RPO.

 

Management stated that they are to be taken to the RPO.

 

WBC-ADDITIONAL RELAY BOXES

 

Additional relay boxes have been ordered.

 

OVERLOADED TRAYS, 280 PROGRESS AVENUE

 

During this meeting an employee was injured as they lifted an over stacked tray of mail, clerks from the BCS area need to be advised of weight restrictions.

 

Management will address with employees.

 

AJAX-BCS

 

Racks will be adjusted. 

   

MALVERN-APP AA PROJECT

 

Vacancies remaining in Malvern to be offered to employees in East Delivery, their resulting route to be offered within station, the temporary vacancy to be staffed under article 17:06.  

 

ARTICLE 54:01 (e)

 

The Parties agree that East Delivery has an establishment of 33 positions. The union states that there are some improper incumbents. The parties agreed to meet and discuss separately to address. C. Samonite has an earlier list which she will forward to M. Duquette and L. Waine to review. 

 

 

PAYROLL MANAGER REPLACEMENT

 

Ian Govan, Manager in Ottawa for Payroll is temporarily managing the GTA Payroll operation.

 

 

MANULIFE CONTACTS

 

The contact number is 1866 396 9443. Once assigned the contact person remains the same. M. Dunstan or a Manulife representative will be present for article 54 meetings.

 

 

 

BAR CHARTS

 

The union stated that stations are not keeping charts up to date, due in September, list requested.

 

Management advised they would follow up on issue.

 

RESTRUCTURES

 

The union inquired, can two employees share and obtain PV allowance with the same vehicle.

 

Management responded that only one vehicle is eligible.  

 

HEALTH & SAFETY, CLEATS

 

The union stated that cleats cannot be worn while driving, there is a fourth pair, provides ability to drive and walk.
