UPDATE DON MILLS

This meeting was convened to provide an update on the accomplishments and issues addressed between the parties following consultation from November 17, 2007.

Adjustments to routes are occurring with the RMO and Gloria Gobin. Supervisory staff with knowledge and or responsible for designated areas are assisting as much as possible.

Originally there were 17 objections raised, issues addressed where immediate implementation is possible, have been corrected.

A “show and tell” demonstration occurred January 19, 2007 on completed routes, the union requesting updates as they occur.

Recognized rehab routes were identified as the DRS assignment, walks 41, 53, 54, and 63.

Two walks in postal unit O, specifically walks 14, and 16 which were identified earlier will be reevaluated at the end of the Don Mills exercise. A logbook is to be established providing updates as they occur.

In response to the union’s inquiry concerning street distance walking at the outset of routes, (1500) feet, management stated that this has yet to be finalized. The union stated that they were willing to address possible resolutions.

The parties agreed that all employees will have first round bidding rights as of today as the restructuring exercise has not commenced as of this consultation date. There are four employees at issue/impacted.
