CPC INFO
Documentation for a computer generated 120 randomly selected Points Of Call Through the intranet LCRMS information
Letter Carrier Depot ________________________ FSA served ________________________ Number of Letter Carrier Routes _______________
120 POC / Number of Routes = number of POC to count daily per route
Download the appropriate LCRMS information: Determine total number of Calls served, and how many of those are Commercial.
Calculation of number of Commercial calls Total number of commercial calls / total number of calls = % % Commercial calls x 120 POC = number of POC which are to be commercial
Extract commercial calls at random throughout Depot Due to limited amount in some office this may have to be generated several times and selected once the user is satisfied that the distribution is through out the depot.
Calculation of residential calls 120 POC – number of Commercial calls = number of residential calls
Select random calls based on the number per route. Down load to a Lotus file.
Example: Letter Carrier Depot Somewhere FSA served: H0H0H0 Number of routes: 40 120/40 = 3 POC per route for sampling Commercial call = 5000 Total Call in the Depot 20000 5000/20000 = 25% 120 x .25 = 30 Commercial POC 120 – 30 = 90 Residential POC
Select 30commercial calls at random throughout office. Select the remaining 90 Residential calls. Logic would be as follows: Does the route have any commercial calls assigned? If yes, how many If no, select 3 Residential calls The route has one then select 2 Residential calls The route has two then select 1 Residential call

Replacement of POC
Use of list(s) Generate 2 randomly selected POC lists for the 120 POC Mail Volume Index The first list generated will be used for the data capture. The second list will be used to replace Points of Call that are identified as vacant during the verification process. 2 weeks prior to the data capture start date, verify each POC on the list to ensure they are valid POC to use during the capture process.
During the first week If a relief carriers was on the route when the verification took place it is possible that one or more of the selected POCs are vacant and will be identified when the Letter Carrier returns to his/her route. During the first week of the data capture if a call becomes or is identified as vacant there are two recommended methods of replacing the POC(s).
Method one Use the second randomly selected list to replace the vacant POC.
Method two If residential Select the next residential (House or Duplex) call to the right of the vacant POC If commercial Select the next Commercial call to the right of the vacant POC
