December 18, 2008 URBAN OPERATIONS ANNUAL LEAVE ENTITLEMENTS
Shortly, CPC will attempt to conduct the Annual Leave draw for 2009-2010, ignoring grievances on monthly bid results not posted or done, almost a month late, no posted seniority list, and without the help of PSAC employees. It will be a disaster. If you have issues you must grieve them so we have a record of your issue.
The Annual Leave Selection will begin for Employees in Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3. The entitlements for the employees for next year's Annual Leave Selection (April/1/2009 to March/31/2010) is outlined below. The entitlement (the number of weeks of leave) is based on your CONTINUOUS SERVICE DATE (C.S.D.). The order that employees select their annual leave is based on their SENIORITY DATE. There is a hand full of employees who had employment in other Bargaining Units or the 2007 verification process, and their C.S.D. is still different than their SENIORITY DATE. Employees who are tied will be ranked by their “Random Number”.
The chart below indicates the entitlement by Continuous Service Date for the purpose of the Annual Leave Draws.
For example, if your first date of employment was prior to April 1, 1982 you are entitled to 7 weeks annual leave. Temporary Employees newly promoted into part time positions should ensure you get the annual leave you are entitled too. For example, if your first date of employment was prior to April 1, 2003 you are entitled to 4 weeks annual leave.
In Solidarity
