Retired Not Dead

The cost of retiring goes up with age

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

As Stated in the national bulletin #32, “Canada Post Proposal: Doesn’t Measure Up”, especially for current and future retirees and their benefits.

Although there have been some improvements to the benefits in this proposed collective agreement it also contains rollbacks.

As most postal workers are well aware CPC has been deleting most full time positions in Group 1 (postal clerks, dispatchers and mail handlers). During the life of this proposed collective agreement there are over 10,000 members eligible for retirement. The question that begs to be asked is “Does CPC plan on deleting most of these positions instead of creating and hiring new employees therefore requiring retirees on a fixed income to pay more?”

Our union has always had a policy on health care D-15 the union believes all people have access to free universal health care plans.
